FREE  Bible  Program  Software

Consider this feature. I've selected Romans 8:32 in the Bible translation window:
Bible

window
And I have the synchronized Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge open in the Commentary window:
Treasury of

Scriptural Knowledge
If I had to click on each one of those Scripture reference links in TSK, I'd be off
rabbit-trailing all over the Bible and would be hard-pressed to find my way back here each time.
But by simply placing the mouse over any link, such as Rom 5:6-10, a tooltip pops up with the complete passage.
By simply pressing one key (F4), I can copy the entire tooltip containing the passage, then paste it into my work document. And I've never left my place in Romans or in the TSK. I find this an especially useful feature and a tremendous time saver.
With a single keystroke and without clicking on the reference,
I have the whole tooltip passage copied to my Word document:
one

key stroke!

e-Sword was developed by Christian software writer and Bible teacher Rick Meyers, whose ministry is that of equipping the saints. Free of charge. As a Bible teacher, Rick understood what tools would be most beneficial to both teachers and students of the Bible, and had the skills to make that happen. Such as Scripture references in the commentaries and dictionaries that pop up as tool tips with the complete Scripture passage simply by passing the mouse over the reference. I have used e-Sword regularly for about 3 years, and it only continues to get better and better with each new version. The program is far better, in my opinion, than many others costing several hundred dollars, yet e-Sword remains free.

A million and a half e-Sword users all over the world can't be wrong.

All of the many Bibles in many languages, Bible Dictionaries and Commentary modules for e-Sword such as the International Standard Bible Encyclopedia are also available to download FREE.

In addition to these many modules, e-Sword has a Topic Notes feature containing a huge number of available free works such as:

  • Martin Luther's "Concerning Christian Liberty"
  • Flavius Josephus' "Antiquities of the Jews" (all 20 books) and "Wars of the Jews" (7 books)
  • Alfred Edersheim's "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah" (98 chapters + Appendices)
  • J.C. Robertson's "Sketches of Church History" (62 chapters)
  • A.W. Tozer's "The Pursuit of God"
  • 2000 + Bible illustrations (verbal)
  • Hymns of The Faith, with lyrics to all
  • Fox's Book of Martyrs
  • C.H. Spurgeon's "All of Grace"
  • The Training of the Twelve
  • Jesus from Seven Sources
  • The Practice of the Presence of God
  • etc.

The Help file contains tutorials to get you started in using this program effectively, plus there are additional training materials available to download free from the e-Sword site.

There are too many wonderful features in this free Bible study program to depict here. Go to the site and have a look at many more of the features in a quick review format:
